Team 8-6 News
Students in Mr. Ssemanda's Social Studies classes are working on the Civilization of Ancient Greece. They are figuring out the impact it has had on the American CIvilization. In science class students have completed their roller coaster work, and Ms. Lee's class looks like a mini Dorney Park! In math, students are currently working on solving inequalities. In English, students hand in their final persuasive essays on Friday.

In science we are studying the effects of natural selection on the evolution of organisms. Mr. Pintos Math Class = Scale Drawings and Percent Proportions. Mr. Parrish's classes are starting Africa this week. In Reading, we are beginning unit 3, theme and symbol. In English, we'll be very bzzzzzzzzzzzy in English class. We're getting ready for the Spelling Bee!
Wedding Cakes at EAHS
Mrs. Pagnano’s Culinary 2 classes each prepared a 4-tier wedding cake. The students prepared the cakes, made homemade buttercream frosting, and prepared their own fondant.
Donations for The Center for Animal Health and Welfare
Palmer 2nd Graders are shown below with the many boxes of donations that they were able to fill for The Center for Animal Health and Welfare (formerly known as the SPCA of Northampton County). A total of 8 boxes including food, toys, blankets, first aid items, and other supplies were collected throughout the month of December. The center was very appreciative for the donations and impressed with the kindheartedness of the children.
Author Patrice Domozych shared her inspirational children’s book Hope Is Here To Stay with EAMS 7/8 Team 7-5 students on Friday, January 8, 2010.
Students were able to purchase the book and all royalties from the sale of this book go directly to Lauren’s First and Goal Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides financial support for brain tumor research and cancer services, offers financial and emotional support to families living with pediatric cancer, and increases awareness of the disease. News from Team 8-1 The Fighting Yellow Jackets
In December, Teams 8-1 and 7-5 donated a carload of supplies and $150.00 to the Center for Animal Health and Welfare. Thanks to all who helped.
Mrs. Clements’s science classes are working on energy and getting ready to build their marble runs. Science Fair folks are finishing up their data and getting ready for their competitions in February and March.
Students in Mr. Childs' History classes are exploring the civilization of Ancient Greece starting with geography, religion, philosophy, art and government. Along the way, we are noticing the many ways in which Ancient Greece influenced our own civilization.
